Make reservations early Much is said about last minute bargains, and although some lower rates can be found if you are willing to take what is left. Booking late will almost guarantee difficulty finding your preferred cabin category, sailing date, ship and itinerary. You'll need to be willing to accept the dates, ships, cabins and itineraries that are left over. This is the price often paid in looking last minute for cheap Jamaica cruises.

A word about Negril and cruising to Jamaica
Since this is a website about Negril Jamaica -- Montego Bay is located on the North Coast approximately half way between Ocho Rios and Negril (on the Western side of the island). It is the closest cruise port to Negril (1 1/2 hours drive). Negril is not easily reached in the time the ship is in port of Montego Bay. Usually the earliest you can disembark the ship is 7:30-8:0am and you'll need to be back by 3:30-4:00pm. Of the maximum 8 hours that you'll be in port, take 3 hours round trip travel away and you'll be left with only 5 hours in Negril. It is just enough time to get a peek, but not near enough time to enjoy the casual laid-back style that is Negril! You'll have to come back and stay a while for that! Of course, 5 hours is better than nothing and if you don't mind the drive (highway all the way) then it would still make a very nice day trip from Montego Bay!
