Jamaica Horseback riding near Negril !

Jamaica horseback riding is an adventure you don't want to miss. If you have always dreamed of riding a horses on the beach and in the sea, check this out!

Only 5 miles out of Negril, at Rhodes Horseback Riding, horses graze freely in the hills when not in use. You have a choice of two fantastic tours. Ride the gentle horses on the beach, into the Caribbean Sea, or through the mountains.

My favorite ride is the longer of the two tours is a 1½-2 hour ride that takes you a total of four miles along winding wood trail past coconut groves, enormous stands of bamboo and all the way up to the top of a mountain--where you‘ll have a spectacular view of the entire plantation and coastline.

After a refreshing drink of coconut water (right from the coconut), you’ll head back down and finish with a ride along the beach where you can wade bareback along the beach and mineral spring.

The other option takes you for a leisurely two mile ride along the beach and is 45 minutes to an hour in length. You’ll ride the shoreline and on past the mangroves to the crocodile reserve. Your guide will take the time to identify and talk with you about all the variety of plants, flowers and birds you’ll see along the way. You’ll meet “Moses”, a resident of Crocodile Lake and have the opportunity to wade bareback on the beach and across a mineral spring.
