Jamaica Tourist Attractions
Jamaica tourist attractions are everywhere on the island. One thing for sure – there are plenty of things to do in Jamaica. There is no place in the Caribbean like Jamaica! The scenery in Jamaica is arguably the most beautiful in all of the Caribbean. Many Caribbean islands have warm weather and beautiful beaches, but usually it stops there. In Jamaica, the sun, sand and sea are just the beginning of your adventure. Jamaica is much more than a single destination. It’s the third largest Caribbean island and the largest English-speaking in the Caribbean. Due to it’s size (146 miles long with widths varying between 22 and 51 miles), it is really a cluster of destinations within one beautiful island destination.
There is Kingston, Montego Bay, Mandeville, Negril, Ocho Rios, Port Antonio and the South Coast.
I'll be staying in Negril and have a full day to explore. I want to get out of my resort and see the attractions in Jamaica.
Many popular Jamaica tourist attractions are located within a day’s drive of Negril. Negril, located on the western end of the island, is near enough to explore the North & South Coasts of Jamaica. Taking a full day, driving to the South and East out of Negril you’ll pass through quaint seaside villages with colorful fishing boats along the shore. Some worthwhile stops include Black River Safari & Y.S. Falls. Further up in the mountains you’ll find the Appleton Rum Estates tour & Marshall’s Pen Great House.
This is my favorite full day drive out of Negril.
If you head to the East out of Negril (towards Montego Bay) there are numerous Jamaica tourist attractions choose from. Popular sightseeing stops include Rose Hall Great House, Rockland’s Bird Feeding Station and rafting on the Martha Brea River. Also nearing the Montego Bay area stop and enjoy some adventure with river kayaking and tubing, a zip-line canopy tour, horseback riding and more. Somewhat further East of Montego Bay, near Ocho Rios is the famous Jamaican waterfalls, Dunn’s River. In the same area you'll find Dolphin Cove, where you can swim with the dolphins. Up a little further in the hills of St. Ann is Nine Mile (birthplace and final resting place of the legendary reggae singer Bob Marley).
