Kuyaba
Kuyaba is a small, very intimate, quiet property. It's a small boutique hotel, right on the beach in Negril. On these grounds you'll feel like you are in paradise. This hotel is always well-groomed and very pleasing to the eye. The moment you walk in you are greeted by a talking parrot.
Here you will get a sense of the "Old Negril Style". If you want to relax, this is the place. It's a great base from which to explore Negril and taste of the real Jamaica. It's ideal for singles, couples and families. The direct opposite of the larger all-inclusive resorts. You won't find a frenzy of non-stop activity, just understated, quality service.
If you prefer newer accommodations or if you are not sure, spend the extra $20 per night on a deluxe room. All the newer deluxe rooms have clay-tiles floors, French doors to your veranda (complete with wonderful swingwing hammock-chair), A/C and ceiling fans.
The honeymoon suite is just fantastic! Beautiful accommodation with a wide balcony. For a genuine island-style honeymoon, this one would be hard to beat.
The Rustic Cabins are in fact rustic (no TV, radio, clock and/or blowdryers). Just very basic accommodations! If you are a seasoned traveler or if you've been to Negril before you'll better understand the meaning of simple.
The Kuyaba Restaurant gets rave reviews. The food is wonderful! Some say it's a little pricey, but I would definately try it at least once--early in the week--just incase you want to come back. Be sure to try the bottomless blue mountain coffee offer, and rum-and-ting.
Don't worry, there are plenty of other really nice dining options nearby for those on a limited budget.
