At Roaring River Estate you can enjoy a refreshing swim . . .

. . . in the mineral springs and explore the caves.

The Roaring River and Cave is located just a few kilometres away from the centre of Petersburg and is one of the most stunning attractions in Jamaica. It was named for the loud, seemingly untraceable echoing flow of the subterranean parts of the river, this river is the most important source of water in the area.

The original plantation is now a heritage and nature park where you will have fun learning about Jamaica's cultural heritage. The natural beauty of the plantation is evident from the minute you arrive.

In he caves, you can swim in the natural pools and learn why they played an integral part in the slave history of the island.Just outside the cave is a deep freshwater sinkhole, which residents of the area will tell you is bottomless. Swimming is permitted here, and the water is crisply refreshing and remarkably pure.

Roaring River Park is an attraction near Negril. It makes a nice 1/2 day or full day when combined with another local attraction like Royal Palm Reserve or to Rhodes Hall for a horseback ride through the hills and along the shore.
